Translation is a difficult job

Translation is the most difficult job in this world.

As a translator, I have been thinking so for many years.

   What do you think?

It might be different, if you translate English into German, because these two are similar each other.  However, translation from English into Japanese is totally different.

It is also difficult to find one who rightously appreciate the value of translation.

A comment in English

Today, I received a comment in English!

Because this is my first experience, I was delighted.

     Many thanks for the comment.

I do not know the nationality of the commentator; I presume the person is a native speaker of English, just because it is written in English.

Anyway, I would welcome your comments.

Access from England

Although I have been writing this blog in English, I am Japanese, living in Japan.

Probably many of the visitors are from my website or blog through their links, because all of them had been Japanese.

Today, I have found that there was one visitor from England!

      Now I thank the Englishperson.

I hope that this blog would develop well so that many visitors from all over the world would come.

Access everyday!

I have been writing this blog on an occasional basis, however, there have been constant visitors everyday.  Thank you for your visits.

I am now studying Web design, so that I could improve the design of my website.

Actually, I will sit for a CBT called WEB-TEST (WEB design) on Tuesday this week.

English ads appeared

      At last, English ads appeared!

Even though I have been writing this blog in English, I am Japanese and open this blog in Japan using a Japanese IP.

Consequently, ads by Google had been Japanese ones for a week.

I do not know whether there is a way to change Japanese ads into English ads, but without having done anything, English ads have appeared today!

I do not know the Google's system, but anyway, my aim was achieved at last.

Access from only Japanese so far

I have been writing this blog in English for about a week, hoping that many visitors from all over the world would visit this blog.

I have found that so far all visitors are Japanese.

The reason is simple.  Probably it is because all of them visited this blog through my Japanese blog.

Of course I would welcome Japanese visitors, however, I would also welcome speakers of English.

What is the obligation of a man?

I have graduated from four universities, and got five degrees.  I hold 89 kinds of certificates.  So, in a way, I do not have to study anymore.

I could live a lazy life, only if I desire.

But, I am serious about studying more and more.

The reason is that I think it is the obligation of a human being to be a better person, not just a right.

If I do not strive for becoming a better person, I suppose it a violation of the obligation.

Movie: The Bucket list

I watched a movie "The Bucket List".

Two old men met in a hospital.  Both of them were told that they had only 6 months left.  Then, they decided that they would do everything they wanted to do before they die.  It was possible because one of them is very wealthy.

The two escaped from the hospital, and went sightseeing tour.  They went one country after another and visited many sightseeing spots.  They skydived, climbed a mountain, ate delicacy, and stayed in a luxurious hotel, spending money like water.

I would like to ask you what you would do if you are told your have only 6 months left.  Like these two men, would you travel around the world, eating and drinking?   Tell me honestly.  What would you like to do?

If I were told that I have 6 months left, I would earnestly think what I could do to make world a better place to live, and do whatever I can, even if it is a small thing.  If I were a billionaire, I would contribute most of the money to poor countries or people.

Emanuel Swedenborg

Are you familiar with Emanuel Swedenborg?

He was a very intriging man.  He was a thinker, philosopher, who actually went into the world of spirits while living in this world.

He has talked in his book "Heaven and its wonders and hell", about what he has seen in the world of spirits.

Wouldn't you like to know what heaven and hell are like?

Once you know what they are like, I am sure that you would inevvitably be changed.

The above-mentioned book is higly recommended.
